Project Repat T-Shirt Quilts had a scrap problem. Instead of paying (begging!) someone else to recycle them, we turned them into the most sustainable sock in the world.

How Did You Turn T-Shirt Scraps into Socks?!

Fund 3 Years of Intense R+D

We funded R+D through our t-shirt quilt production partner in North Carolina to unlock a recycling nique process

Handpick their favorite tees for a meaningful, one-of-a-kind grad gift.

Collect Recycled Textiles

Thousands of pounds of excess textiles are collected from factories within a 75 mile radius in North Carolina

Using high quality materials and traditional techniques.

Shred, Mix and Spin

The textiles are mixed with Project Repat's t-shirt scraps and shredded down into fiber that's respun into yarn

Backed with ultra-soft fleece for a long-lasting, warm, and cozy t-shirt quilt.

Build True T-Shirt Circularity

Your old t-shirt scraps -along with other discarded textiles - just became your new favorite pair of socks.

Repurposing old tees andgiving them a new life reduces waste and promotes sustainability.

Why are Scrappy Socks the most Sustainable in the world?

  • Made from 100% recycled materials, entirely sourced from a 75 mile radius in North Carolina.
  • Spun into socks within that same 75 mile radius, keeping carbon emissions from shipping to a minimum

So many apparel companies claim sustainability. Have you heard about the company that ships plastic bottles to Spain to break them down into fibers, sends those fibers to India to be turned into fleece, sends that fleece to China to be manufactured into jackets, and then ships them back to the United States to be marketed and sold as ‘eco-friendly’ apparel? All that shipping essentially has the same carbon footprint as a trip to the stratosphere on the space shuttle.

Scrappy Clothing Co believes in a supply chain with dignity, every single step of the way. Our products - and the materials from which they’re made - travel no more than 75 miles in any direction before they’re shipped to your door. 100% recycled, 100% made in the USA. Every product.
