From Sleeping Under a Desk to Hundreds of Orders: A Festive Founder Story
Dec 12, 2025
When Project Repat first started, co-founders Nathan and Ross didn’t have a sprawling office, a large team, or a bustling warehouse. In fact, Nathan often found himself sleeping under his desk in his tiny Boston office, waiting for the first shipments from customers to arrive.
“I remember I was sleeping under my desk in my office and by 5:30am we had already sold 50 quilts, which was more than we had sold probably that whole year… and so at that point, felt like we actually had a business,” Nathan recalls.

Fast forward 14 years, and the story couldn’t be more different. This holiday season alone, hundreds and hundreds of orders are coming in from families, graduates, athletes, concert-goers, and those creating memorial blankets to honor loved ones across the country. Each t-shirt quilt we craft in our partner factory in Western North Carolina — whether from college tees, race shirts, or old band t-shirts — represents a story, a memory, a moment worth keeping.

Watching Project Repat grow from those early days under a desk to fulfilling hundreds of holiday orders is a reminder of what makes this work so meaningful. It’s not just about blankets — it’s about memories stitched together forever and the joy of giving a gift that truly preserves someone’s story.
"We’re just so thankful for all the customers we have and appreciate the journey that we’ve been on." – Nathan
