Can you get a blanket back to me by Christmas?
Yes! No problem. You must order your blanket and add the Christmas Guarantee Item to your cart when checking out. We cannot guarantee your blanket back to you for Christmas unless you add this product to your cart. Please ship your shirts to us by December 13th.
How do I place an order?
Place your order by choosing the type of blanket you want, the size, and the fleece color for the back. Once you order, we'll send you instructions for shipping your shirts to us. Payments are due up front, and shipping the blanket back to you is included in the price.
Do you want a quilt with t-shirts on both sides?
Are you trying to redeem your groupon?
How do you make your t-shirt quilt blankets?
We take 12 inches x 12 inches from your shirts and sew them together on the front of the t-shirt blanket quilt, and back the blanket with high quality, made in USA PolarTec fleece (your choice of colors!).
Will you take other materials besides just t-shirts?
As long as it's a softer material (no leather jackets or jeans please), we can use it. We'll take flannels, jerseys, dri-fit, sweatshirts, and dress shirts. And we can use any combination on the blanket. Please make sure the front and back has at least one square foot of fabric available for use.
Why are your t-shirt quilt blankets so much more affordable than other t-shirt quilt companies?
We are not quilting your t-shirts, which is a much more labor-intensive process. There are many great t-shirt quilt companies out there, but we heard from people that they wanted to preserve their t-shirt memories and get a great product without paying 500 to 700 dollars for it! We realize you may be thinking: How can you make a product that is top quality but so much more affordable? Well, the way we construct the t-shirt blanket quilt-- sewing all the pieces of the shirts together and then finishing the sides takes a lot less time to make, which ends up being a much more affordable price for you. We spend a lot of time carefully cutting the most important parts, and spacing out the t-shirts to make the design look great. We also spend a lot of time thinking about making the best possible t-shirt blankets (probably too much time), and we want you to be as happy as possible with your memories displayed in a more functional way. Please let us know if you have any questions--- we are always happy to talk t-shirt blankets.
Do I have to cut my own shirts?
Nope! Just send along full shirts and you can mark the sides you want. We'll take care of the rest.
Marking sides of shirts:
We try our best to pick the sides of the shirts that are best for the blanket. But we don't like to have to guess which sides of the shirts you want used. If you have preferences for which sides you want used, please mark the sides of shirts you want used or write a CLEAR note saying (use fronts only, use backs only, etc.). The more clear you are with your instructions, the easier it is for us to make you an amazing blanket. Do NOT put tape over the images - it can cause them to peel off when we remove the tape. Just put it below or above the image.
How does shipping work?
We ask that you ship your shirts to us, and we pay for the return shipping of the blanket for free. When you order, we will send you instructions for shipping your shirts to us. If you order multiple blankets and want to send them in one box, that's fine, but please separate the orders in plastic bags and make it very clear it's for multiple blankets.
What is the Repat Gift Box?
The Repat gift box is the hottest gift of 2013! It's like a gift certificate, but includes a large pre-paid envelope for shipping us your shirts for FREE! The gift recipient pays no additional cost to make a blanket up to a 5 x 6. If you order a gift box, your shirts cannot be sent in until after December 25, 2013.
How many t-shirts are needed?
We use one square foot from each shirt. Our blankets range from 3 ft x 3 ft up to 8 ft by 8 ft.
3’ x 4’ blanket (lap size) - send 12 sides of shirts
4’ x 5’ blanket (twin size) - send 20 sides of shirts
5’ x 6’ blanket (full size) - send 30 sides of shirts
7' x 7' (queen size) blanket - send 49 sides of shirts
8' x 8' (king size) blanket - send 64 sides of shirts
We only need the designated number of sides of shirts (front or back), not full t-shirts. For example, a 5 x 6 blanket can be made with 15 t-shirts using the fronts and backs, or 30 shirts just using one side, or any combination in between. You are welcome to send full shirts to us and we will cut out the side you want. Please use notes to let us know which sides of the shirts you are using, but use masking tape or stickers (NO POST-IT NOTES - they fall off, NO DUCT TAPE, it can leave a residue on your shirts).
Will you take baby clothes? How does it work?
We do take baby clothes - but it has to be a blanket made entirely out of baby clothes. We take 8 inches x 8 inches from each article, so the blanket will come out much smaller than what it's advertised as. But it still makes a great memento of all those baby memories! So, for example, a 5x6 using 30 baby clothes will end up being more like 3 feet by 3.5 feet. You can order any blanket size, or our baby stroller blanket, and we'll make it for you!
Can I make special requests for my t-shirt quilt blanket? What if I want to put certain shirts in certain places?
Special requests cost an additional $50 and include placing your blanket in a specific order, mixing smaller shirts (toddler's and onesies) with larger shirts, or using all the fronts of the t-shirts and sending twice the amount of shirts (for double sided blankets). We can usually do it, just takes more time and therefore we have to charge extra. In most cases, this $50 for customization will cover all special requests for an order. Sometimes a request may be so labor-intensive, it would be more costly. Please contact us if you have a specific question about what is or isn't custom, after looking at the breakdown below.
WHAT IS CUSTOM:
- Indicating the exact layout for the shirts in your blanket or instructing us to place a few panels in specific areas on the blanket
- Sending panels that are all too small for our sewers to cut a 12.5 x 12.5 inch square panel from, unless the blanket is being made with 8.5 x 8.5 inch panels.
- Mixing smaller shirts (including toddler's and onesies) with larger shirts
- Constructing a panel from 2 or more of your small pieces
WHAT ISN'T CUSTOM
- Indicating which side of each shirt you want used for the panel of your blanket
- Requesting that one specific t-shirt side be placed in/near the center of your blanket
- Making all your panels 8.5 x 8.5 inches in order to use smaller pieces (which will make the completed blanket about a third smaller than a blanket with the same number of panels and 12.5 x 12.5 inch panels)
Once I buy, how long do I have to send in my shirts?
Please send your shirts to us within one year of purchase.
Can you only use 1 foot by 1 foot? Will some of the writing get cut off?
We do our best to capture as much of the images on the t-shirt as possible. However, if your t-shirts have images that are larger than 1 foot by 1 foot, the image will be cut off. When telling us which side of the shirt to use, add tape outside of image.
What's the biggest sized blanket you'll make?
Our biggest blanket is a 8' x 8'. However, if you want something bigger, contact us and we'll work something out. Sky's the limit!
Can I cut my own panels?
Yes, but we need 12.5 inches by 12.5 inches for each. Please do not send panels that are different sizes - they all must be the same size (unless they are bigger than 12.5 x 12.5 inches, in which case we will cut them down for you). You can also cut off sleeves or separate fronts and backs if it is more convenient for you.
Will you send back my t-shirt scraps? Or any extra shirts that are not used?
No, we cannot send you back scraps or extra shirts.
Where do you get your fleece?
Our high quality fleece comes from PolarTec, in Lawrence, Massachusetts. It is part of their REPREVE collection, using recycled clear plastic bottles to make a high quality fleece.
What's the best way to wash my fleece blanket?
Machine wash warm, tumble dry low, do not use bleach
Is there a 100% guarantee that my shirts will return?
Project Repat cannot guarantee that your t-shirts will arrive at the Repat headquarters or arrive back to you. The problem is that we don't control the postal service, and some things can get lost. That being said, once shirts arrive to us, we take great care of them and make sure that they will be sent out as an awesome new product to you.
What is your refund policy?
We're committed to ensuring that you love every Project Repat product that you buy. If you are not satisfied with your finished blanket, we will refund 100% of your money within 21 days. After 21 days, we cannot offer refunds. For custom orders, t-shirts must be sent to Project Repat within 1 year of purchase. After 1 year, Project Repat reserves the right to cancel your order and your money will not be refunded. Refunds can be offered up to 21 days after purchase of a custom order product. After 21 days, Project Repat will not refund money for those who have not yet sent their t-shirts to Project Repat. If you send extra t-shirts, we cannot send them back. If you send us t-shirts that can not be incorporated into the product, we cannot send them back. Please only send the proper amount of t-shirts that associate with your order.
